On the Philippine island of Boracay, you will not run out of things to see and do. Besides the popular beach activities, tours and excursions, there are also a few things to experience that you don't immediately come across or that you don't run into right away.

In this post, we will show you 20 great activities and sights you should not miss when in Boracay. At the end of this article, you should have a little inspiration to build your itinerary for your Boracay trip.

Journey to Boracay

The best way to get to Boracay is by plane and there are two airports for this purpose. The Boracay Airport in Caticlan and another one in Kalibo. Both airports are located on the mainland and include a ferry ride. From Kalibo, you can take the bus to the pier.

Within the Philippines, you can fly from Manila or Cebu to Boracay, outside the Philippines you can fly directly from Singapore. Tickets, prices, and connections can be found on Skyscanner or Momondo.

Another alternative would be to take a ferry from Manila to Boracay, although this can be time consuming since it will take up to 14 hours. The ferries leave from the North Harbour in Manila on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to Caticlan. Arrival is then always the next day.

Overnight Stay on Boracay - Our Hotel Tip

The best location on Boracay is, of course, on the beautiful White Beach. However, many accommodations directly at White Beach (at least at stations 1 and 2) are very expensive. It is much cheaper at station 3.

The Boracay Haven Suites is located almost directly at Station 2 of the White Beach. It's only a few minutes walk to the beach. The hotel scores with super friendly staff and top service. A swimming pool is also available.

If you don't necessarily want to stay at the White Beach, then have a look at cheaper accommodations at station 3.

1. Explore Beaches

If there is one thing Boracay is known for, it is its postcard motif beaches. Especially the miles long White Beach makes Boracay a beach paradise for many vacationers. But did you know that the island has many more beaches that you should explore? And the best thing about it: many are still spared from mass tourism and there are one or two pearls to discover.
Most beaches are easy to find and you can visit them by motorcycle, bicycle or tricycle.

But to list them all here now would go beyond the scope of this article. In our detailed Boracay beach guide, you will find all the important beaches of Boracay.
