Camiguin Island - The Journey

Accommodation on Camiguin Island
Most of the popular accommodations can be found in Mambajao, the capital of the province of Camiguin, with some directly located just a few walks away from the island's beautiful beaches. There are also decent homestays, cottages, and lodges for as low as P500.00/night per room.
Discover the Sights of Camiguin Island
The best way to get around the island is by motorcycle or scooter and explore the island on your own. If this is not for you, you can also use Multicabs and Jeepneys, which are available all over the island.
If you start from Mambajao and circle the island clockwise, you will first reach the beautiful and impressive Katibawasan Waterfall. From there you will reach the next destination, the so-called Macao Cold Springs: several waterfalls that drop from an impressive height into turquoise blue pools - a real bathing paradise and a welcome cooling off during the small island trip.
Thermal Waters, Natural Pools, and Springs of Camiguin
Because of the wealth of volcanoes found in the island, Camiguin has many hot springs that have become well known to Philippine tourism. It is not surprising to find whole families enjoying these natural pools.
Here are our top three favorites in the island:
Santo Niño Cold Spring
Hibok Hibok Ardent Hot Spring
Camiguin Waterfalls
Camiguin has some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Philippines and all of them offer the possibility of bathing. It is easy to get there by motorcycle or tricycle and you have to pay a small entrance fee but they are unique environments in the middle of the mountain. Three of the major waterfalls found in Camiguin include the following:

Katibawasan Falls
With a waterfall of over 70 meters, this is the highest and most impressive waterfall on the island

Tuasan Falls
With unique stone formations and for its abundant flow of water, the bathroom is assured.

Binangawan Falls
They are known as the hidden falls since they require trekking of about 45 minutes to reach them.
The Sunken Cemetery - Cemetery in the Sea
Probably the most romantic spot on the whole island is the so-called "Sunken Cemetery", a cemetery sunken in the sea, which can be seen most impressively in the setting sun from the land.
In the middle of the water, a single hill with a monument to the cross still stands out, creating an almost magical picture à la Caspar David Friedrich. During the day you can dive and snorkel there and enjoy the beautiful coral reef that has been created around the cemetery that has sunk into the sea.

White Island
Another real highlight that can be found on the island: a white sandbank in the sea called "White Island" is easy to reach with a small boat and makes the hearts of locals and tourists alike beat faster - a little piece of paradise in the middle of the sea.
This naked (uninhabited) island is located about 10 minutes away from the northern coast of Camiguin. Here you can enjoy diving or snorkeling, and since you can’t find shade anywhere on the island, you can get an intense sun tan here, so don’t forget your sunblock.
Festival of Lanzones
For a week, locals celebrate this event with grand street celebrations, cultural shows, parades, beauty contests, and a fair of artisan and local products.
